Well, this last week has been a bit memorably, and not all that bad.  I spent most of tuesday and wednesay working on a lab project for my CS class, so nothing important enough to stir my memory happened before Wednesday.

On Wednesday I dropped my Calculus course; it's the first class I've ever quit.  I was just doing so horrible that the probability of me getting a C was not worth the chance of getting an F.  I had a 43% in the class after 40% of the points possible had been assigned.  So, I dropped the class but I have to take it again sometime in the future, so I'm still sitting in on it for the rest of the semester.

The weather wasn't very good, so I didn't get out to do much fishing this week.  I did buy some silicone and seal up all of the leaking rivets that I have Friday though.  That's something that I've wanted to do for a long time, but never really got around to.  Friday was warm, but way too windy to go out in the boat, so I decided it was time to patch it.  I guess I'll find out how well it worked the next time I go out.  I really don't know when that'll be though because the weather has been very unpredictable.  Hopefully I'll get to sometime this week, because we're probably not going to have much time left with warm enough weather to go out now.  I figure I'll be getting the boat ready for winter in another week or two depending on how soon it turns winterishly cold.

Yesterday was a very fine day... the weather was bad, but fishing wasn't on the agenda.  I slept a good portion of the day because I wanted to be awake for the Aquatic Apes show last night.  I went down to Union Station around 830 or so and got a really good seat.  The band started at 10 and played until 130, and I was about 6 feet from them.  It was an excellent gig, and I talked to all of the band members quite a bit before they started, and then between sets.   They're all guys who go to school here, so I recognized them, and I may have had a class or two with one of them a couple of years ago.  They might get a regular gig downtown soon, so I may see them again later this winter.  I was about half tanked by the show's end though, so I decided to go to Subway to kill a little time and get some food.  This was sometime right around 2am...  that's not what's important though.  What happened next is... some shit faced drunk old man stumbled in and ordered a sub.  As he wobbled near the glass guard over the food he fell right onto my table while I was eating.  If I had been the model of sobriety I probably would have beat his drunk ass, but I mellow way out after I've been drinking, so I sat there with  dazed thoughts on the situation.  By the time I had really thought about it any, the guy had stumbled out down the middle of the street without even getting his food.  He said it was "fu... fuck'n... fuck'n outrageous price for a... an... uh...a  sannwik!" and I quote that.  The people working there informed me that this really wasn't an uncommon occurence for this guy.  I left soon after... and on the way home I saw that the police were parked across the sidewalk out talking to the drunk guy about 3 blocks down the street from Subway.  I laughed in triumph as I drove home... that'll teach that crusty old bastard to fall on MY table!

Played in another type-II
Magic tournament today with my elf deck.  I did a little better today than last week, but my performance was still much worse than I would have liked.  I went  1win/3losses in rounds with a game record of 3wins/7losses.  Bring on the type-I motherfuckers... this type II shit is for pussies!  I still stand by my plan to burn this type-II deck once it's out of the legal sets.  Banned and restricted lists that are longer than the Sunday newspaper are bullshit, and go against what Magic is all about.  They made the cards to play with, not to sit in boxes and binders collecting dust.

Well, enough with my ranting about the evils of the DCI.  I have some homework to do and I currently have my laundry in the washers downstairs...
