Well, in today's news... I got my ass thoroughly kicked in a Magic tournament. My attempt to build a type-II green elf stompie failed utterly. I went 2wins - 8 losses on the day for a total of 0wins - 4 losses in rounds. As soon as Mirrodin becomes type-II legal and Odyssey is out I plan on burning the deck and taking pictures. I'm trying to win packs to use as trade leverage, and to give to my brother. I traded the pack I got today for a Legends Life Chisel. I also picked up a 4th Edition Ball Lightning and another Flying Men (Arabian Nights) at the tournament. I can't wait for the next Type-I so I can stand a better chance with the Mono black Discard deck that you all know so well. At any rate, I'll only be using this type-II for another 2 weeks, and that will officially end my betrayal of true Magic.
I guess the only other thing of interest I did today was found a place that deals exclusively in Suzuki Samurai aftermarket stuff... interior, wheels, suspension, drivetrain, engine... they have it all. It should be a good resource for future repairs and modifications.
With the exception of Friday, the rest of this past week really was of little interest. On Friday I went fishing with Rich, but that's not the interesting part. Upon our arrival back at his place, we saw a newer White Dodge Durango parked out in his yard by the garage. We pulled up to ask the driver (who was on a cell phone) what he was doing on Rich's property. The guy started digging around in his coat, which made me very nervous... I had my foot hovering on the gas and clutch because I was sure it was a pistol. He instead produced a badge and said he'd talk to us in a few minutes. I was rather worried by this, but Rich wasn't. He thought that it was DEA after his neighbor. The neighbor guy had moved in about a month ago... into an extremely shitty trailer. Since then a brand new Dodge Ram pickup, a brand new Chevy 2500 pickup, 2 bass boats, and 2 4-wheelers had arrived in the yard... and this guy never leaves the house.
Well, the agent wasn't DEA, he was ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms). He asked us if we had seen that guy, or another man which we didn't recognize, with any firearms. We hadn't, and the officer then went back to sitting out by the garage. Later about 10 FBI and ATF agents raided the guy's house, as we worked on getting a shed onto a trailer. Man, putting a shed onto a trailer fucking sucks. Anyway... from what the neighbor Kurt had heard on his scanner, the guy had been running stolen guns and his girlfriend turned him in; needless to say he was in trouble.
We did succeed on getting the shed on the trailer, and then I went to the bar. The rest of the night is a bit fuzzy. I went to the Keg & Cork with 20 bucks and woke up Saturday morning with a dollar in my pocket. Where the other 19 went is anyone's guess... I think I may have visisted Subway, but I don't really remember. Maybe it will come back to me sometime, but I doubt it. I sure had a headache yesterday morning.
That's all for today. |
