Well, deer season is almost upon us here in frosty MN. It's been running between 15 and 20 degrees here most of the week, and snowing frequently. I just went out with Brent today and put up my deer stand, and did some scouting. Thus far, things look good, lots of deer tracks, and no human or vehicle tracks aside from my own. I'm going to go out again tomorrow night and check again, because if there's people tracks I'll go out extra early to make sure my stand isn't taken. Spend the rest of the evening out at Rich's place, and just got home a few mintues ago.
I just got my winter boots the other day... I managed to find -40 rated pac boots at Fleet for 12.99, so I was in luck there. The downside to pac boots is the fact that they weigh around 6 pounds each, and it's nearly impossible to move any faster than a walk in them. Still, I couldn't go wrong for the price, especially since I needed them so badly.
Guess that's all for now... hopefully I'll be giving you guys good news on Saturday or Sunday about season, but you never can tell. |
