Well, for those of you who were wanting an update *cough* Suzanne *cough* I'm sorry but I've been really busy since I got back. I had to type up one paper this week, and do Physics assignment for today. On top of that I've been assigned 4 of my final papers this week and I have two tests this Friday... oh joy!
Anyway... much thanks and praise be to the valiant heroes William, Matthew, and Jason for picking me up from the frozen wilderness of the north and bringing me home. If anyone ever gets stuck in the middle of nowhere, these are the guys to call. If they drove 750 miles each way to get my dumb ass they'll pick you up too. Most of you have probably read all about this on Matthew's site already, but I'm going to tell the story anyway.
They showed up at my door around 9:30 or 10 on Saturday night, fresh from IL. With William behind the helm of the B all the way here, they made it in 12 1/2 hours without getting lost... I was actually quite impressed. Anyway, I was rather sickly and eager to get home, but they wanted to go to Canada so we put most of my shit in the B and headed off. Unfortunately (for them, I really didn't want to go to Canada) the weather got pretty bad up between Blackduck and Funkley, which is still about 70 miles from the border. The roads were quicly becoming a solid sheet of ice so we turned around and headed back to pick up the rest of my stuff. After that we set off for home... Jason seemed displeased, he wanted to meet some chicks. Oh well, shit happens. I don't remember a whole lot about that night, I was becoming sicker and was asleep on and off all night. I do remember William gawking at the hot chick at the gas station in Grand Rapids and having a short coversation with Matthew about black holes, but that's about it.
The next morning was kinda cool... William and Gary had made a couple of signs on paper grocery bags that said "you're in the fast lane... drive like it" and "your car is slow" a while back, and on the way up Jason and William has made one that said "please show us your tits". We spent the morning amusing ourselves with the signs, that was until William lost the "fast lane/slow" sign out the window on Interstate 39. Jason also thought that making a new sign with "boobies" instead of "tits" would work better, so William made a new one out of a paper towel. It did get several laughs and a few fingers, but unfortunately no chicks showed us boobies. I think we came close once though. Oh yes, Jason made one wrong turn on the tollway, so we whipped a shitty over one of those emergency cuts in the median to avoid hitting another toll booth and were on our merry way back in the right direction. That was about the only things that I really remember that were of any interest on the ride home.
We got home about 11 on Sunday morning thanks to Jason's "56" mile an hour driving, give or take 40mph. My sickness had worsened though, and the only time I really got up between Sunday and Wednesday was to go to the the clinic, where I was diagnosed with strep throat and given a heavy load of Biaxin. It worked well, and by Wednesday afternoon I was finally able to get out and see what was going on around town. Didn't do much that day though, just talked to Spinner. We talked about getting that 231 Buick to my grandma's, but unfortunately we didn't get around to it... too much shit to do and just not enough time. So Wednesday ended without much happening.
Had some fun on Thursday... I went out with William shooting at his grandparent's place. Vic (William's dad) and Matthew came alone but neither of them stayed long. Vic brought a nice 1911 45 pistol, and William brought his Argentine Mauser. Matthew was out of ammo, so he didn't bring any guns. He just shot a clip out of Vic's 45 and didn't stay much longer. Vic didn't stay very long either, he shot the 45 a bit, and then my 45-70. He's got one ordered, and wanted to see what they kicked like. I'm telling you, I don't care if you're 8 years old or have girly naughty bits... if you shoot a 45-70 you're a manly man. Ask anyone who has ever shot mine and I think they'll agree. Anyway, after shooting up a considerable amount of 7.65, 45 Colt, 30-30, and 47-70 ammo with William I just hung around and talked to Bryan a little bit that night, didn't do much else on Thursday.
Friday was a good night... hung out and had a few drinks and watched some movies. I actually saw Nathan for a few minutes and got a glimpse of his new truck, and 88 Ford F-250 4X4 with a 5.0 and a 5 speed. Finally got to see Andy too... he has this greenish yellow hair and funky glasses. He really looks like a fucking dork, but I think that's the look he's striving to achieve. Had some fun playing with a taser and watching Bryan shock the shit out of people, including that fruity little fag Troy (note... that's a joke to anyone who doesn't know us)who happened to show up. We watched Insomnia and then some Skinemax soft porn flicks... Insomnia is a completely kick ass movie! I recommend it to anyone, Al Pacino and Robin Williams are great together in it... a very dark movie!
Woke up on Friday not feeling so well... antibiotics and booze isn't aren't really a good mix, but I hadn't really been thinking of that the night before. Anyway, I recovered fairly early.... didn't really do much but sit around playing Duke Nukem : Zero hour till evening. Duke Nukem is my hero...
Saturday night was fun... spent it hanging around with Suzanne and Gary for a while. We went to pick up Andy from his new place in Kentland, but he wasn't there so it was kind of a pointless trip. We just cruised a while in my Beretta (man I miss driving that while I'm up here) until we met up with William, who told use he and my brother were going to Mike's to play some Magic shorty. Gary and myself were definetly up for that, and Suzanne needed to go home so we dropped here off and headed over to Mike's place. Spent the next several hours playing multiplayer games, and despite the fact that I needed to get up early we wound up staying till about 3am. I had a great time and realized how much fun Magic was again. See, I go through these phases where I love it and blow a lot of money on cards... then I purge and don't play for months at a time. I guess in general I'm just a bit burnt out on Magic, but it's still fun to break out the cards and try to kick a little ass every now and then.
Headed home on Sunday in my new ride... my grandma's ghetto cruiser. It's a 92 Chevy Caprice with a 5.0. Man that thing rides great, and much to my suprise it got nearly 25mpg on the way home!!!
Haven't been doing much now... just been busy as fuck with school like I mentioned earlier. I do have one high point of the week. I found a card shop in town... and the good part is they don't know shit about cards. I picked up a couple hundred "commons" which have included Shimian Night Stalker, Simulacrum, and some other semi-valuable uncommons and rares for 10 cents each. Most of them really are commons though... I plan on doing some deck building when I'm home over Christmas, and hopefully I'll make a stop at The Game Preserve or do some online shopping at Card Shark to pick up a few of the rares I need.
Guess that's all... |
