Well, after a long period of neglect I finally have the time needed to work on my site this weekend. Got all my Calc homework done, my reading for my Utopian Literature done, and my Calc test over with today... which means I actually may be able to engage in some recreation this weekend. Bout fuckin' time; this semester has sucked, there's way too much homework for the number of credits I'm getting. I'm only taking 14, but I have more work than ever.
On the plus side, I leave here for Spring Break in less than a week... hopefully I'll see most you you guys while I'm home, but you never know how shit goes these days. I should be leaving on Thursday afternoon and arriving home early on Friday morning. Then I'll be around till the morning of the 15th or 16th; one of those. I don't really feel like getting up to look at the calendar and I'm too lazy to check the one of my computer either. Another plus is that today I finally figured out who the guy to the right from The Simpsons is... Dolph. I'd always wondered, and today I finally did a little research on the net to find out just what his name was. I also ripped off the pic you're now viewing from a site to show you who I was talking about... so now you know; that guy is Dolph. He's the guy hangs around with Jimbo and Kearny.
Oh, although you at home may be enjoying the first days of Spring, the situation is entirely different up here. I took a few pictures of the BSU winter academic parking lot... aka Lake Bemidji. Whereas you guys are enjoying green grass and warmer weather once again we still have around 30 inches of ice on the lakes and temperatures well below freezing. Depending on the year, you can drive on the lakes 2-4 weeks into March... this year is a bit warm, so I'd say 2 weeks. After that you can still walk on the ice quite safely till mid to late April. So as you can see, Spring up here is pretty well just a word... if you want to put time on spring up here, it's probably the last week of April till the 3rd week of May or so. A note...I took this pic today, which is Friday around 1pm. If I had taken it on say... Wednesday around 9 am there would have been 2 to 3 times the number of cars shown in these pictures. The ice is quite thick and very safe to drive as long as you know the lake. So when I talk about the climates being very different between MN and IL now you know I'm not just talking bullshit... bwahahah!
Speaking of the site and other things, I will be doing extensive updating, additions, and revisions tonight and this weekend. This will probably concentrate mostly on the people and cars sections, but everything should get a brush up; even if you don't see it.
Below are the pics of the lake parking lot... one of the North and one of the South.
