| Well, what can I say...I'll start with the weather. Man, we've had some crazy shit weather the last few days. On Sunday it was snowing; yesterday it was 70. Today it was snowing this morning; tonight we're supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow with 2-4 more in the next two days. This is the month we call spring here in MN, sporatic bounces between warm sunny days and several inches of snow. It'll probably continue to do so until early/mid May... then it's summer. Yesterday I walked down to the card shop and bought enough cards to make a shitty deck for 8 bucks. It would be semi-effective, but they didn't have any of the damage triggers I needed to make it work. So, I built a moderately quick discard without any damage triggers.... what I wouldn't give to have one good deck up here right now! I played one game yesterday at the shop, but left when flock of annoying 12 year old punk kids came swarming in. Man guys, remember when we were the snotty junior high punks just learning how to play? We're getting old quick... Most of these guys didn't even know what set the cards I was playing were out of, that's just sad. I guess this is what Magic is coming to; sad eh? This year will be Magic's 10th year, and the 8th that most of us have been playing. Oh well, I'm getting off into my own little world there. That tends to happen quite a bit while I'm writing, but I try to avoid it. Today I was happy until a little while ago... one of the junkyards up here had gotten in a transmission for my Samurai, so I headed out to pick it up. Well, the son of a bitch had a crack in it, and the front seal was history. It had no oil either; it was just as bad off if not worse than the one in there now. I scavenged through the yard looking for a door handle and shift knob too... all the door handles were gone, but I did get a shift handle. They didn't charge me anything for it, so I can't bitch there. Got back here and started down the list of junkyards again... I'm waiting for a call from one of them right now; they said that they may have one. If not I'll just continue the search tomorrow. Well, I don't have much time; I have to eat and get to my night class... later. |
