Well, I went out and shot my new .45-70 last night with Brent and I must say it's fucking painful! With heavy loads that thing kicks like a pissed off mule. I was actually hurting after 3 shots, and I went on to shoot 24. On the plus side, it's very pleasant to shoot with lighter cowboy loads, so that'll be what I shoot most of the time. Those are the one's I'll have to use at the competitons anyway.
We actually got a few minutes of video while we were out there, and I got some pictues... only 3 of them came out very well though. We also shot Brent's 54 caliber percussion cap muzzle loader while we were out there... that thing is awesome. I'll probably wind up getting one of my own; they're only about $125-$150 brand new for one like his.
After that I went home and called home. I told dad that this gun was fun, but that it kicked the shit out of me. After that I went to bed a sore but very happy guy.
Didn't do much today... went to class, came back and typed a paper while I talked to Nathan on ICQ. I've actually been talking to him as I work on the site as well. I also talked to Matthew online for a few minutes and told him I'd shot my gun.
I have a stupid night class tonight which sucks because I'll be missing my hunter's safety course. Man I can't wait to get that thing over with. I actually feel sorry for some of the kids in there... we have a big ol' 148 page book and most of them are 11-13 years old. That's a lot of reading for a little kid.
Oh well... that's all for today |
