Filing the leather notch into my horn.
Finally finished!
Hmm... I've done quite a bit in the last few days.

Took the shotgun and .44 out yesterday afternoon, then I went out and finished my powder horn at
Brent's last night.  Had to finish off my sanding, and then filed a groove into it for the strap.  You can see pictures of me working on it, and then with the finished product below that.  We hear a couple or red squirrels that night, but it was getting to dark to blast them with the 12 guage.

The other big thing that's going on up here is the fishing opener.  They're having a big national Walleye tournament up here so town has been absolutely packed with people from all over the country for the last couple of days.  I've never seen it this crowded here before.  I got up about 9 this morning and was out fishing by 11... got back around 6 and hadn't caught a damned thing.  I didn't even get one fuckin' bite... must be some kind of socialist revolution by the fish population.  I talked to quite a few people while I was fishing and it seemed that none of them were catching much either.  I plan on going back tonight and trying my hand at it again... walleyes and northerns can hit really good at night during the spring.  The way my luck's running today that's doubtful though.

I should be home around a week from today... as per the usual, I'll probably stop by Bryan and Matthew's place not long after my arrival.

That's about it for this one.

Oh yeah... forgot to mention I got some nice landscape pics of the places I fished today, so I guess I'd better post a few of them.
Left: a stretch of the Mississippi River running between Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving.
Left: fishing under a bridge farther down the river.
Left: a shot of Little Grant Lake taken from the North.
Left: a shot of the Little Grant landing... the hill that I took the north shot from can be seen at far end of the lake.
