Nathan's 1988 Ford F-250 4X4
Nathan found this truck replacement for the Silver Bullet after he blew another head gasket on the engine that he had dropped
into it. Over Thanksgiving Break of 2003 (on Thanksgiving Day I believe ) Nathan acquired this '88 Ford F-250 4X4. It came with
a 5.0L v8 / 5 speed combo, which is what always  wanted in a truck.

However, after driving it a while he found that the gears were spaced too widely so he decided to swap out a 4 speed into it.  So
over Semester Break 2004/2005 Nathan swapped a NP-435 4 speed into this truck from
his old F-150 Bluey and has been very
happy with the results.

In the fall of 2005 he put headers and a full dual 2.25" exhaust with Flowmaster 40s on it, but I didn't get to hear it until Spring
Break of 2006 since he had the truck out in PA with him.  Unfortunately soon after I got to finally hear it he locked up his oil
pump when he was pulling
the K5 out of a swamp, so needless to say the engine isn't very happy now.  He found some bad
looking bearing bits down in the oil pan that he think came from the cam.

In May of 2006, Nathan swapped in a low mileage 351W out of a van so now Red is all better.  Plus, the difference in sheer
power between that 5.0 and the 351 is insane.  30hp and 40ft/lbs of torque actually gave that truck some snap, he can get
rubber in 3rd gear pretty easily now.  So although it was a pain in the ass, I'm sure he's much happier now that the 5.0 blew
anyway.
