The Lineup (1998)
I've always loved music and wanted to play music. So way back in April of 1998 I descided I'd try to form a band
(stupid idea). The band never really had an official lineup because nobody could play anything for shit.
This band, conisisting of myself on drums, Andy on guitar, William on guitar, and Nathan on keyboards.
Problems with this lineup.......William owns a guitar, but he can't play one. I couldn't play drums worth a shit, and
didn't even own a set, and lastly, Andy neither had nor could play a guitar. The only person who owned and could
play an instrument was Nathan.
Another big problem was the fact that nobody could sing. But by far the biggest problem were musical conflicts.
NOBODY could agree on what we should play. William liked blues, Nathan liked rock, Andy liked some
alternative, and I liked heavy metal. This causes problems, but the band remained together.
Then we tried to name the band....Nathan came up with "The Barking Spiders" but that flopped. William has no
input on this matter. Andy comes up with "One Ton Warriors", and we revise it to "One Ton Wizards". It was never
an official name, but if I ever get a band together that's one name I'd like to use.
Well, I managed to get ahold of part of a drum kit....it consisted of a tom, floor tom, snare drum, bass drum, high
hat cymbals, and a crash cymbal, a snare stand, and part of a bass pedal. I improvised and immediately began to
practice.
A few weeks later William and I went over to Nathan's house to practice with the guitar. (This was a fuckin' joke)
We set up out on the back porch and Andy came over. Everybody took thier turn and sucked royal balls..Nathan
was the best and he'd never played a guitar before.
At this point the band basically split at the seams and fell apart. It was all over for the One Ton Wizards after about
three months, but it was fun while it lasted considering it wasn't ever really much of a band.
