Well, there's really not a lot to say about this CB setup in my Samurai. It's really nothing fancy or complicated. When my
grandpa died about 10 years ago I got a bunch of the stuff he had owned, and in it was about 4 CBs, including a Krako CB
DeLuxe that was still brand new in the box from the 70s. I installed it into my Samurai in 2003, but I never got around to getting
an antenna, so until May of 2006 I had an adapter that just ran the CB through the stereo antenna. I could hear everyone else
just fine, but I could only transmit about 100-200 feet, which really sucks when you need to say something important when
you're out messing around, or if you're stuck. So, this May I picked up a 36" whip antenna with a mounting kit and hooked that
up. It's still not great for transmitting; I can probably get out 1/3 to 1/2 a mile now, but it beat the hell out of people only being
able to hear me a block away. I might put a fancier setup into it someday, but with the abuse I put my Samurai through I don't
want anything nice in it since it'll get both beaten and wet fairly regularly.
