| Samurai exhaust system |
Well when I got my Samurai in 2002 it had a 2.25" side outlet exhaust off of the Hedman 4 into 1 header. I had Nathan install a cutout
into it too; it didn't sound too bad, but the cutout leaked and 2.25" is a bit too big for that little 1.3L engine. Over semester break
2004/2005 I finally got an excuse to change it; while removing it to get to my transfer case shaft I broke a hole in the muffler while
pounding on it with a hammer and block.
So I went with a 2" Cherry Bomb TurboII muffler and had Nathan weld up the rest for me; I'm pretty pleased with it, has a fairly good tone
(for a 4 cylinder, which I don't like the sound of in general) but it's not too loud. Just enough of a growl to let you know it's there, and it
flows better than the old system did; also less annoying hiss since it's welded instead of clamped like the old setup was. Hopefully
this will be the last exhaust I have to put on this thing; if it's not I'll just redo the exact setup I have on it now.
