Pro Comp ES2000 Stabiilzer Kit Installation

Stabilizer kit still in the plastic wrap
Quite a difference in size between the ES2000 and the stock stabilizer
Halfway finished with the installation
Well, I had been considering putting an aftermarket steering stabilizer on the Samurai for quite a while, but once I put my
Swampers on it became a must, the bumpsteer had just gotten completely out of hand and needed some correction. I had
been looking at a few different options for stabilizers, and in the end I came down to a choice between the ProComp ES2000
kit, or the OME (Old Man Emu) stabilizer. The Pro Comp was a bit cheaper and had a complete axle mount kit, whereas the
OME was just a huge, stiff stabilizer that mounted in the stock location so I went ahead and ordered the Pro Comp from
Summit.
As it turns out, I think I probably should have went with the OME stabilizer, because I was pretty disappointed with this Pro
Comp. It installed fairly easiliy with Nathan's help, but the difference in my steering was very minimal. The wheel is a bit
smoother at low speeds, but it did nothing for highway speed bumpsteer.... so in the end I think it was a waste of 65 dollars. I
really wouldn't advise anyone to get this if they're running a 33" tire on a Samurai because it's only a negligable improvment
over the stock stabilizer. On the upside, it does look pretty, but it really doesn't matter how it looks if it doesn't function well.
