| Well, just got back from another Type-II... played the trusty (or not so) elves yet again. Didn't do nearly well as I would have liked, but I guess it could have gone much worse too. Thought for the day... fuck goblins in the fucking ass! Round 1: Played Tony, who was running mono red goblins... we hadn't seen goblins last week, so this kinda sucked. The first game I was beating him down well, but then when he was at 3 life he pulled that 7/1 with haste/trample on me, which killed me. He would have been dead the next turn.... I was less than happy. The 2nd game went much better... I agroed on the 2nd turn and beat him in 5 with no major problems. He took the 3rd game easily... I had 6 lands in my opening hand and drew 2 after that; I had no chance in hell. Rounds 0-1 / Record 1-2 Round 2: Played Pat, who was borrowing a goblin deck... oh fucking joy. I couldn't do shit agianst him, and he easily beat me in 2. I found a huge clump of land halfway into the libary and most of my good stuff was at the bottom. I throughly reshuffled after this round. Rounds 0-2 / Record 1-4 Round 3: Played against Cody, who was running an artifact creature deck that was heavy Mirrodin. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fast enough to compete with elves. The first game was slow because he had a steady supply of blockers, but I beat him in a perfect game. The 2nd game had me worried, he kept nullifying damage, but then I drew into taunting elves which won me the game. This was a fairly lopsided match, my deck was just too fast for him to cope. Rounds 1-2 / Record 3-4 Round 4: Played Gabe and his damn white/green miracle grow deck again. I couldn't cope with his fliers, and with life gain he had no problems taking me down in 2. Final Score Rounds 1-3 / Record 3-6. This wasn't a good day for me at all, but there's light at the end of the tunnel... next week is Type-I. I'm going to play my discard... I used it in a few casual games beween rounds today and easily dispatached everyone I played with it. I'm hoping I'll be able to do so next week, but it is an unpredicatble deck, so I guess we'll see then. End of tournament analysis. |
